INSPECTION
BATTERY CURRENT LEAKAGE
• Turn Ihe ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
• Remove the battery cover. (c:::r 6-2)
• Di sconnect the - battery lead wire.
Measure the current between the - battery terminal and the -
battery lead wire using the multi circuit tester. If the reading ex-
ceeds the specified value, leakage is evident.

~I Tester knob indication : Current ( :-:-: , 20mA)
~ Battery current (leak): Under 1 rnA
[ ACAUTION '
* Because the current leak might be large, turn the
multi circuit tester to the high range first to avoid
damage to the tester .
* Do not turn the ignition switch to the " ON " position
when measuring tho curront.
When checking to find the excessive current leakage, remove

REGULATED VOLTAGE
• Remove the battery cover. (c:::r 6-2)
• Start the engine and run the engine at 5 000 r/min.
Measure the DC voltage between the T and - battery terminals
using the multi circuit tester. If the voltage is not within the speci-
fied value , inspect the generator and regulator / rectifier.
(c:::r 7-10 and 7-11)
NOTE:
When performing this measurement, make sure that the battery
is fully charged.
