ENGINE REMOVAL
AND
REINSTALLATION
ENGINE REMOVAL
Before taking the engine
out
of
the frame,
wash
the engine
with
a
steam
cleaner, and drain transmission oil and cooling
solution etc. The procedure
of
engine removal
is
sequentially
explained in the following steps, and engine installation
is
effected by reversing the removal procedure.
• Remove the lower fairings. (Refer
to
page
7-1.)
• Loosen the
seat
attaching
bolt
and
remove the
seat.
• Loosen the
left
frame cover attaching
screws
to
detach the
left
frame cover.
NOTE:
To
prevent
damage
to
the frame cover, the seat
must
be remov-
ed before frame cover is detached.
• Turn the fuel cock
to
the OFF position.
•
Shfit
the
hose
clip sideways
and
disconnect the fuel
hose.
• Remove the fuel tank.
•
Place
an
remove the oil drain plug and
filler
plug
to
drain
out
transmission oil.
• Remove the radiator
cap
and
drain
hose,
and
drain cooling
solution completely.
