Charging System: 1J-11
3) After recharging, wait at least 30 minutes and then
measure the battery voltage using the multi-circuit
tester.
If the battery voltage is less than 12.5 V, recharge
the battery again.
If the battery voltage is still less than 12.5 V after
recharging, replace the battery with a new one.
4) Install the battery to the motorcycle. Refer to “Battery
/ Battery Holder Removal and Installation (Page 1J-
11).

Removal
1) Remove the seat. Refer to “Exterior Parts Removal
and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D-3)”.
2) Disconnect the battery (–) lead wire (1).
3) Disconnect the battery (+) lead wire (2).
NOTE
Be sure to disconnect the battery (–) lead
wire (1) first, then disconnect the battery (+)
lead wire (2).
4) Remove the battery (3) from the motorcycle.
5) Remove the ECM (4) and starter relay (5).
“A”: Charging period “B”: Stop charging
