Carburetor check and adjustment
CAUTION:
Do not adjust the carburetor when it is
operating properly. Excess adjustment may
cause the engine poor performance.
1. Check:
●
Engine idling speed
Unstable
→
Adjust.
Refer to steps 3 and 4.
2. Check:
●
Vacuum pressure
Out of vacuum variation range
→
Adjust.
Refer to step 3 and 4.
3. Adjust:
●
Pilot screws
NOTE:
Depending on the model, each pilot screw
is covered with blind plugs.
Vacuum variation range:
Within 50 mm Hg
Adjusting steps:
●
Turn in all of the pilot screws
1
until
they are lightly seated.
●
Turn out the pilot screws the specified
number of turns.
Pilot screw setting:
2 turns out
●
If the engine is unstable, turn the pilot
screws in until the engine idling speed
is down approximately 40 r/min, and
then return the screws 3/4 turns.
