Engine
1.
Check the Valve Clearance
(Refer to Chapter3)
2.
Inspect the cylinder head cover for
cracks or damage. If replacement is
necessary, replace cylinder head
cover and cylinder head as a set.
5.
Inspect the cylinder head
•
Remove carbon deposits
(Use a good quality
combustion chamber
cleaner)
Note:
Do not use a sharp instrument to avoid
damaging or scratching the spark plug
threads or valve seats.

Look for cracks or damage
•
Look at the cylinder head
water jackets, clean out any
mineral deposits or rust.
3.
Inspect the Tappet covers
•
Tappet cover (1)Exhaust
•
Tappet cover (2)Intake
•
O-rings
4.
Insert a screwdriver and slowly
release the timing chain
tensioner rod.
(Make sure the tensioner rod comes out of
the housing smoothly, if there is any rough
movement replace the tensioner.)
Installation
1.
Install the cylinder head cover
•
Washers(1)
•
Bolts(2
Torque 8-12 Nm or 6 – 9 ft lbs
