Chassis
Assembling the Universal joint
1.
Place the universal joint into the
yoke.
2.
Apply wheel bearing grease to the
bearings and place the bearing (1)
onto the yoke.
3.
Press the bearing into the universal
joint using a socket of suitable size.
Note
The bearing must be inserted far
enough into the universal joint so that
the cir clip can be installed.
4.
Install the cir clips (2) into
the grooves in each bearing.
Assembly of the Differential Gear
1.
Slide the differential gear all the
way to the right to put it into the 2
WD mode.
2.
Connect two C size batteries to the
gear motor terminal (1) to rotate the
pinion gear (2) until the paint mark
(3)
is aligned with the paint mark (4)
on the gear motor case.
Alternately the gear motor can be
plugged into the vehicle and cycled
to the 2WD position with the rocker
switches.
Do not use 12V battery to operate the
gear motor.
3.
Insert bolts (5) into the gear motor
(6) and use the as a guide to set the
motor on the differential gear
assembly (7) so that the sliding
gear does not move.
4.
Remove the temporary bolts and
install the gear motor bolts.
