Advertisement Preīxes
Path: Network > IPv6 > LAN Settings > Advertisement Preīæxes
To add, edit, or delete an advertisement preīæx entry:
1. Click Network > IPv6 > LAN Settings > Advertisement Preī xes tab.
Router advertisements conīægured with advertisement preīæxes allow this router to inform hosts how to perform
stateless address auto conīæguration. Router advertisements contain a list of subnet preīæxes that allow the router
to determine neighbors and whether the host is on the same link as the router.
2. Right-click a current entry and select Edit or Delete. To add a new entry, click Add New Advertisement
Length.
3. Complete the īæelds in the table below and click Save.
Field Description
IPv6 Preīx Type
To ensure hosts support IPv6 to IPv4 tunnel select the 6to4 preīæx type. Selecting Global/Local/ISATAP will
allow the nodes to support all other IPv6 routing options.
SLA ID
The SLA ID (Site-Level Aggregation Identiīæer) is available when 6to4 Preīæxes are selected. This should be
the interface ID of the routerās LAN interface used for router advertisements.
IPv6 Preīx
When using Global/Local/ISATAP preīæxes, this īæeld is used to deīæne the IPv6 network advertised by this
router.
IPv6 Preīx Length
This value indicates the number contiguous, higher order bits of the IPv6 address that deīæne up the
network portion of the address. Typically this is 64.
Preīx Lifetime
This deīænes the duration (in seconds) that the requesting node is allowed to use the advertised preīæx. It
is analogous to DHCP lease time in an IPv4 network.
Save Click Save at the bottom to save and activate your settings.
