6 Changing the Machine Settings
[Authentication]
 [Login Type]

[No Login Required]
The authentication feature is not on.

[Log In to Local Accounts]
Use user information registered to this machine for authentication.
Important

When [No Login Required] or [Log In to Remote Accounts] was changed from [Log In to Local Accounts], all user
information that has been registered to this machine is deleted.

[Log In to Remote Accounts]
Use user information registered to an external authentication server for authentication.
Note

If external authentication is performed, user information is saved to this machine. The user information saved to this
machine is used to authenticate users, so this machine can be used even when an external authentication server is not
running during external authentication.

If you do not want to save the user information used for external authentication to this machine, configure [User Details
Setup] > [Save Remote Accounts in This Device] to [Disabled]. For details, refer to "[User Details Setup]" (P.139).

The user information for external authentication saved to this machine can be deleted automatically. For details, refer to
"[User Details Setup]" (P.139).

[Customized Login]
Used for authentication when the Server-less Authentication Kit (sold separately) is enabled.

[Access Control]
You can restrict control panel operations, machine setting changes, and feature usage. User authentication is
required to use the machine.
Note

During external authentication (excluding when ApeosWare Management Suite 2 is used), usable services can be used
from the control panel of this machine based on access-permission information acquired from the external
authentication server.

Access restrictions for guest users cannot be configured when guest users are used for external authentication. To restrict
guest users that can use this machine, refer to "[User Details Setup]" (P.139).

[System Settings Access]
Configure whether to restrict machine setting changes by users that are not machine administrators.

[Device Access]
Configure whether to restrict operation of touch panel buttons of this machine.

[App Access]
Configure whether to restrict the services of this machine.
Note

If a service is configured to [Locked (Show Icon)], appears next to the corresponding service on the Home screen. The
icon disappears after authentication.

If a service is configured to [Locked (Hide Icon)], the corresponding service is not displayed on the Home screen. The
corresponding service is displayed after authentication.
 [Create / View User Accounts]
To turn on authentication, register user IDs and user names to authenticate registered users.
An upper limit for the number of sheets used can be configured for each user of the machine. In addition, you can
check the total number of pages for registered users, etc.
The content is the same for [Create / View User Accounts] of [Accounting].
