3.3 Installing
a
Rack
The
expansion
rack
is
shipped
with
the
SPARC
M10-4S
chassis
and
crossbar
boxes
mounted.
Power
distribution
units
(PDUs)
are
also
shipped
mounted
in
the
rack
together
with
crossbar
cables
and
XSCF
BB
control
cables.
This
section
describes
the
procedure
for
connecting
the
power
cords
to
the
power
distribution
units
(PDUs),
how
to
install
the
expansion
rack,
and
the
procedure
for
connecting
the
rack.
For
the
methods
of
installing
racks
other
than
the
expansion
rack,
see
the
manual
for
each
rack.
3.3.1 Connecting
the
power
cords
to
the
power
distribution
units
of
an
expansion
rack
This
section
describes
the
procedure
for
connecting
the
power
cords
to
the
power
distribution
units
(PDUs)
of
an
expansion
rack
(referred
to
below
as
the
rack).
1.
Turn
off
the
circuit
breaker
switches
(CB
switches)
on
the
PDUs.
Open
the
rear
door
of
the
rack,
and
pull
up
all
the
CB
switches
on
the
PDUs.
When
pulled
up,
a
CB
switch
is
turned
off.
When
pushed
in,
the
switch
is
turned
on.
A
in
Figure
3-3
indicates
the
locations
of
the
CB
switches
for
single-phase
power
feed.
B
in
the
figure
indicates
the
locations
of
the
CB
switches
for
three-phase
power
feed.
A
PDU
has
12
CB
switches,
so
there
are
24
switches
per
rack.
Keep
the
CB
switches
turned
off
until
you
turn
them
on
in
"6.2.2
Turning
on
the
input
power
and
starting
the
XSCF."
