RL78/F13, F14 CHAPTER 6 TIMER ARRAY UNIT
R01UH0368EJ0210 Rev.2.10 425
Dec 10, 2015
The timer array unit has eight 16-bit timers.
Each 16-bit timer is called a channel and can be used as an independent timer. In addition, two or more “channels” can
be used to create a high-accuracy timer.
For details about each function, see the table below.
Independent channel operation function Simultaneous channel operation function
Interval timer ( refer to 6.7.1)
Square wave output ( refer to 6.7.1)
External event counter ( refer to 6.7.2)
Divider function ( refer to 6.7.3)
Input pulse interval measurement ( refer to 6.7.4)
Measurement of high-/low-level width of input signal
( refer to 6.7.5)
Delay counter ( refer to 6.7.6)
One-shot pulse output( refer to 6.8.1)
PWM output( refer to 6.8.2)
Multiple PWM output( refer to 6.8.3)
It is possible to use the 16-bit timer of channels 1 and 3 of the units 0 and 1 as two 8-bit timers (higher and lower). The
functions that can use channels 1 and 3 as 8-bit timers are as follows:
Interval timer
External event counter (lower 8-bit timer only)
Delay counter (lower 8-bit timer only)
Channel 7 of timer array unit 0 can be used to realize LIN-bus communication operating in combination with UART0 of
the serial array unit.
