Local_Bus communication
This CADEC IC sends/receives commands and status data to/from the upper CPU through the local bus.
Functions of FPGA (IC2, IC3)
SDI signal input
This FPGA converts the serial SDI signal that is input from the BNC connector through the cable equalizer IC to parallel
signals, and then sends the parallel signals to the video processor.
SDI output
This FPGA converts parallel signals (to which format conversion and video processing have been added) to a serial
signal, and then sends the 32-channel SDI signal to the mother board connector.
DDR4 control
DDR4 memory is used for format conversion of video signals.
A DDR4 memory device consists of 16 4GB SDRAM ICs.
Local_Bus communication
This FPGA sends/receives commands and status data to/from the upper CPU through the local bus.
5-5-4. CNO-43 Board (XKS-S8165)
The CNO-43 board is a 16-channel output connector board mounted on the rear of this unit.
The CNO-43 board outputs 16-channel output signals selected on the XPT-38 or XPT-38A board by the cable driver
circuit through the motherboard to the external.
Five CNO-43 boards with 80 outputs are provided in XVS-8000/XVS-7000.
Three CNO-43 boards with 48 outputs are provided in XVS-6000.
5-5-5. CNO-44 Board (XKS-S9167)/CNO-44A Board (XKS-S8167)
The CNO-44 board has the following functions.
• The 32-channel output signals sent from the mother board are input to the FPGA (IC2, IC3) in which Output Video
Process and format conversion are added. Then the processed signals are output to the cable driver IC.
However, the CNO-44 board cannot convert signal formats to a format with different frame rate.
• The configuration data of the FPGA (IC2, IC3) varies as follows depending on system format.
- type-A: Used for system format 4K
- type-B: Used for formats other than system format 4K
• SDI_IN inputs 32-channel signals from the mother board and SDI_OUT supports 16 channels (8 channels in the
case of 12G)
• Corrects the waveforms of the video signals from the FPGA (IC2, IC3) by the cable driver IC, and then outputs
the corrected video signals to the 16-channel SDI_OUT (BNC) connector.
The CNO-44A board has the following functions.
• This board does not have functions (format conversion, etc.), but only outputs SDI signals (12G, 3G, HD, and SD).
• Only one type of FPGA (IC2, IC3) configuration data.
• SDI_IN inputs 16-channel signals from the mother board and SDI_OUT supports 16 channels (4 channels in the
case of 12G).
