5.1 Cycle and Control Value Programming — General
CAUTION
POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
Always select a cycle appropriate for the items being processed. Failure to do so may
result in product damage.
The AMSCO® 7052HP Single-Chamber Washer/Disinfector and the AMSCO® 7053HP Single-Chamber
Washer/Disinfector are programmed at the factory with several operating cycles (see Table 5-1 to Table 5-20 for more
details about cycle parameters and values).
A DECONTAMINATION cycle is also programmed at the factory to help with routine maintenance. Refer to Section 6.7,
Processing DECONTAMINATION Cycle, for details.
The cycles programmed at factory are as follows:
• INSTRUMENT (00) — To process surgical instruments.
• UTENSIL (01) — To process bedpans, trays, basins, bowls, kidney dishes and theatre shoes.
• PLASTIC GOOD (04) — To process plasticware.
• ANESTHESIA (05) — To process anesthesia tubes, bags and masks.
• GENTLE (06) — To process delicate surgical instruments.
• RIGID MIS (07) — To process rigid minimally invasive surgical instruments.
• ORTHOPEDIC (08) — To process orthopedic instruments.
• DECONTAM — To decontaminate and descale chamber.
NOTE: Each factory-preset cycle has been tested to ensure effective washing and disinfection.
In addition to these factory-preset cycles, there are up to 20 custom cycles available.
Cycles include various sequences of treatments:
• Pre-Wash
• Wash
• Rinse
• Thermal Rinse (with pure water or hot tap water)
• Drying
Each treatment has time and/or temperature values, some of which can be modified within a range. To help ensure
safe and effective operation, some preset values cannot be modified.
