Movable / Fixed Driven Face Parts Inspection

Movable / Fixed Driven Face
Inspect the driven face for any abnormal conditions,
such as stepped wear or discoloration caused by
burning.
If any defects are found, replace them with new ones.
Movable Driven Pin and Roller
Inspect the movable driven pins and rollers for abnormal
wear or damage. If any defects are found, replace the
pin and roller with a new one.
Movable Driven Spring
Measure the spring free length with the vernier calipers.
• If the length is shorter than the service limit, replace
the spring with a new one.
Movable driven face spring free length
Service limit: 204.3 mm (8.04 in)
O-ring and Oil Seal
Inspect the O-rings and oil seals for wear or damage.
If any defects are found, replace the O-rings and oil
seals with new ones.
Clutch Shoe Removal and Installation

Refer to “V-belt Type Continuously Variable Automatic
Transmission Removal and Installation (Page 5A-7)”.
Removal
1) Drain the engine oil. Refer to “Engine Oil and Filter
Replacement in Section 0B (Page 0B-7)”.
2) Remove the right inner fender. Refer to “Exterior
Parts Removal and Installation in Section 9D
(Page 9D-3)”.
3) Remove the fixed drive face back plate (1).
4) Disconnect the belt cooling duct connectors (2) from
the V-belt inner cover (3).
5) Remove the V-belt inner cover (3) together with the
clutch wheel/shaft (4).
