3C-9 Transfer:
Transfer Disassembly and Assembly (LT-A400/
F)

CAUTION
!
Identify the position of each removed part.
Organize the parts in their respective groups
so that they can be reinstalled in their
original position.
Disassembly
Disassemble the transfer countershaft and reverse idle
gear.
Refer to “Transfer Removal and Installation (LT-A400/F)
(Page 3C-4)” and “Transfer Components (LT-A400/F)
(Page 3C-2)”.
Assembly
NOTE
• When reassembling the driven gears,
attention must be given to the locations
and positions of washers. The cross
sectional view shows the correct position
of the snap ring. Refer to “Transfer
Construction (LT-A400/F) (Page 3C-8)”.
• Before installing the gears, coat lightly
engine oil to the counter shaft component
parts.
Assemble the countershaft and reverse idle gear in the
reverse order of disassembly. Refer to “Transfer
Construction (LT-A400/F) (Page 3C-8)”.
Transfer Idle Gear Bearing Removal and
Installation (LT-F400/F)

Removal
1) Remove the transfer idle gear. Refer to “Transfer
Removal and Installation (LT-F400/F) (Page 3C-7)”.
2) Remove the bearing from the transfer idle gear using
the special tool.
NOTE
If there is no abnormal noise, the bearing
removal is not necessary.
Special tool
(A): 09921–20240 (Bearing remover set)
Installation
1) Install new bearing to the transfer idle gear using the
special tool.
CAUTION
!
The removed bearing must be replaced with a
new one.
Special tool
(A): 09924–84521 (Bearing installer set)
2) Install the transfer idle gear. Refer to “Transfer
Removal and Installation (LT-F400/F) (Page 3C-7)”.
