4.6 Tire Maintenance
Tire pressure
Make sure that the tire pressure is correct for the specified model tire dimension. Examine the tire
pressure each 100 - 150 hours. Refer to the applicable table in the "Technical specifications" chapter of this
manual.
IMPORTANT:
When the maximum hold is necessary during field work, the rear tire pressure can decrease to a minimum
of 8 bar. This also decreases the load capacity.
The front and rear tire inflate pressures must always agree to the specification table. You can decrease
these values in proportion to the permitted limits to get a correct mechanical alignment between the front
and the rear wheels.
Ballast weight
In some work conditions, you must add weight to the machine to increase the drawbar pulling power and
decrease the wheel slip. Apply the correct quantity of weight for the specified task and ground conditions.
When you add weight to the rear wheels, it increases the draft force and decreases the weight on the front
wheels.
NOTE: Steering control can decrease.
A risk of injury or death because you cannot control the machine.
Always put the correct weight on the front end to balance the machine.
Do not use more weight than necessary. The total weight on each wheel must not be higher than the
recommended load levels.
Remove the added weights when you cultivate or do other light tasks. More weight than necessary
compresses the soil, wastes fuel and decreases the life of the machine.
Get the available weights and fasteners from your dealer. The machine weight must apply in proportion
between the axles.
To replace or repair a tire, you must go to an approved tire technician who has the correct equipment.
