4.3.6 Cabling the FF/HSE module FI 840F
The FieldbusFoundation/HSE module FI 840F is a fieldbus module
with twisted-pair Ethernet bus physics. This ensures that all
100BaseT network components available on the market can also
be used with the FieldbusFoundation/HSE fieldbus module
FI 840F.
The module can work with a transmission rate of 10 Mbits/s
100 Mbits/s arbeiten. The transmission rate is automatically
adapted to the max. rate of the connected node.
It is recommended to use only twisted pair cables of category 5 for
the FF/HSE module FI 840F, in order to achieve the maximum
transmission rate.
Applications of FF/HSE or 100BaseT:
• Networks within one building.
• Medium-size plants with medium or high number of nodes.
• Plants with little or medium EMI
For running a 100BaseT network an FF/HSE module FI 840F has to be plugged into
slot F1 ... F4.
