1 AC 800F System Overview
1-6
The AC 800F fieldbus modules are driven by the CPU board in the AC 800F housing.
The CPU board provides a similar computing capacity as the Freelance 2000 CPU
module DCP 10.
The data transmitted by the fieldbus modules is processed according to the
configured function blocks and then transferred to the operator station via the
Ethernet modules and the system bus. The processing results are then output via the
fieldbus modules and transferred to the fieldbus devices.
Fig 1-3 shows the AC 800F with
the maximum possible number
of I/O units connected to it.
Thanks to its CAN module
FI 810F, the AC 800F can use
the Freelance 2000 I/O units.
The process station bus links
the I/O units to the AC 800F. A
maximum of five I/O units can
be connected to the CAN
module.
When the AC 800F is fully
equipped (as described here),
45 slots are available in the I/O
units for accommodating
Freelance 2000 I/O units. The
three AC 800F fieldbus slots
remaining can be used for
connecting other fieldbuses.
