8.2.4 Hardware structure
The battery module contains the following hardware components:
• EEPROM for configuration data
• Isolator for electrical isolation of the bus signals to allow for plugging and removal
of the module while the AC 800F is running
• Battery holder with polarity reversal protection
• Battery status monitoring circuit with Batt low signal and yellow status indicator

Buffer battery
The 3.6 V lithium battery SB 808F, which is to be inserted in the battery holder
SY 809F is included in the scope of delivery of battery module AM 811F.
The battery holder can be removed and plugged in at any time, while the module is
switched off or while it is running.
When the AC 800F is off, removing the battery holder when no module
with a buffer battery resides in the other E slot will cause a data loss.
The data in the main memory and the configuration of the real-time
clock will be lost then.
