6. Lamps and lamp houses
6.1 Introduction
Lamp & lamp house
Normally the lamp house of the DP2 K-12C/11CX projector is d elivered with a mounted 2000 watt lamp. In case the xenon lamp is
delivered se parately the lamp has to be installed on site by a qualified service technician.

The xenon lamp is packed in a protective container or wr apped in a protective cloth. N ever remo ve this p rotective container or
protective cloth without wearing adequate protective clothing (face s hield, clean leather glovers, welder ’s jacket).

CAUTION: Xenon com pact arc lamps are highly pressurized. Wh en ignited, the norm al operating temperature
of the bulb increases the pressu re to a level at which the bulb may explode if not handled in strict accordance
to the manufacturer ’s instructions. The bulb is stable at room temperature, but may still explode if dropped or
otherwise mishandled . When ever the lamp house, containing a xenon lam p, has to be dismantled or whenever
the protective container or clo th has to be removed from the xenon lamp, authorized protective clothing MUST
be w orn!
Cathode adaptor
A cathode adaptor is required to mount the xenon lamp in the lamp hous e. Th e cathode adapter has to be mounted upon the cathode
side of the xenon lamp prior to mounting the lamp in the lamp house. The purpose of the cathode a dapter is to position the a rc of
the xenon lamp in the middle of the reflector inside the lamp house.
