6.10 Replacement of the lamp reflector
Lamp reflector assembly
The re flector of the lamp has three major parts. One m ounting plate, one spheric glass mirror and one elliptic glass mirror. Both
mirrors are glued on the mounting plate and are perfectly aligned with eac h other. The mounting plate serves also as a reference
plate between the reflec tor and the projector optics. The mounting plate has two positioning pins which ensure a correct alignment
of the reflector assem bly with r espect to the projector once the lamp house is inserted in the projector.

This procedu re assumes that there is no lamp installed inside the lam p house. If so, see procedure "Removal
of the xenon lamp", page 98.
CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of the reflector assembly while unpacking and installing. Hold fast the
reflector assembly by its metal mounting plate.
Necessary tools
• Two 17 mm open-end wrenches.
• Torque wrench with 17 mm hexagon s ocket.
• 2,5 mm Allen wrench.
How to replace the reflector of the lamp house?
1. Remove the s ide cover of the lamp house by releasing the two r etaining thumbscrews as illustrated.

2. Disconnect one end of the cathode wire from the lamp house as illustrated. Us e two open-end wrenches to release the nuts.
Tip: Place the washers and nuts back on the s ocket.
