Ask Lonely Planet where to go Apps
or similar. You can also ask the Google Assistant to tell you about a
desination without first opening the app – “OK Google, ask Lonely
Planet about Georgia”, for example. As with all apps, you can say
stop to exit the app and return to the standard Google Home
experience. If you don’t do this, the app ends up in a bit of a loop
of asking you what you want it to do. You can also tap the top
of Google Home to put an end to the app asking you questions.
Before you’ve finished, you can ask the Lonely Planet agent to
send you an email with all the information it told you previously.
This is rather handy but again it’s often headline stuff, so it’s not
information you can’t find out from Wikipedia or the tourism
website for the city concerned.
Browse apps
It can be a lot easier to browse through apps via a desktop web
browser – go to https://assistant.google.com/explore to do this.
Ensure you’re logged in using the Google Account that your Google
Home is connected to. To switch accounts, tap the triangle to the
right of the account name if you’re using the Google Home app or
click your profile picture if you’re using a desktop web browser.

OK Google, I want
to talk to Lonely
Planet
This will open the Lonely Planet
app and ask you what you want
to do next.
Tell me the best
place to be today
If you’re already in the app,
Lonely Planet will tell you about a
destination of the day.
OK Google, ask
Lonely Planet about
Athens
The app will give you
the background to a
chosen destination.
Tell me more...
When Google Home finishes
telling you a bit about a
destination, you can ask it to tell
you more or stop there.
