Traction Pedal Damper
Removal and Installation
See Figures 9-24 through 9-26.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-7.)

2. Support the damper (6).
3. Remove lock nut (2), screw (7), and two flat washers
(1).
4. Remove lock nut (5), screw (3), and two flat washers
(4), and remove damper (6).
NOTE
Perform steps 5 through 10 only if replacing the damper
assembly.

5. Measure and record the distance (8) between the
face of the damper and the end of the rod end.
6. Loosen the jam nut (10) and remove the rod end (9).
7. Remove the jam nut (10).

8. Measure and record the distance (11) between the
edge of the damper and the end of the rod end.
9. Loosen the jam nut (12) and remove the rod end
(13).
10. Remove the jam nut (12).
Installation Notes:
• Install the damper by reversing the order of removal.
• Check transmission neutral adjustment. (See
“Transmission Neutral Adjustment” on page 5-18.)
