6-2. Replacement and adjustment of Y-axis belt
Set the conveyor rail width to the minimum, and then detach the Y cover.
Remove the Y rail base A, and replace the belt (see Section 5-4).
Remove the idler BR , then remove the belt BR , and replace the belt (fastening torque: 29.4
N•cm, screw lock: Loctite 277)
When the belt replacement is finished, move the carriage left and right and confirm that the belt
will not run in a zigzagging way.
If the belt begins to run like a snake, the cause may be that the idler roller is positioned not
vertical, and therefore, make adjustment by moving the idler BR .
Then execute belt tension adjustment.
After moving the carriage to the position shown in the diagram below, use the tension adjustment
screw to make adjustment so that the following value will be set.
P = 0.98N (100g), deflection = 5 mm
If an acoustic belt tension meter is used:
Unit weight: 0.00127 N/cm
2
Belt width: 6 mm
Span length: 409.3 mm
Belt tension: 16N (1.6 kgf)
Y belt (part No.: E1210717000)
