REAR CALIPER REMOVAL/INSPECTION CONT.
8. Inspect caliper piston bore for scratches, severe
corrosion, or galling and replace if necessary.
9. Inspect surface of caliper piston for nicks, scratches, or
damage and replace if necessary.
REAR CALIPER ASSEMBLY
1. Install new O-rings in caliper body (2 piston seals per
caliper half). Be sure O-ring grooves are thoroughly
cleaned of all residue, or piston may bind in bore. Apply
brake fluid to pistons and install carefully with a twisting
motion to ease assembly until fully seated.
2. Install new O-rings between caliper halves.
3. Carefully assemble caliper body, making sure O-rings
are properly positioned in groove. Torque body screw
evenly to 18 ft. lbs.

18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)
