Area codes are also known as Numbering Plan Areas (NPAs). They usually indicate
geographical areas in one country. When entered numbers match the predefined area
code rule, the IP phone will automatically add the area code before the numbers when
dialing out them. IP phones only support one area code rule.
Procedure
Area code rule can be configured using the configuration files or locally.
Create the area code rule and
specify the maximum and
minimum lengths of entered
numbers.
Parameters:
dialplan.area_code.code
dialplan.area_code.min_len
dialplan.area_code.max_len
dialplan.area_code.line_id

Details of Configuration Parameters:
String within 16 characters
Description:
Configures the area code to be added before the entered numbers when dialing
out.
Example:
dialplan.area_code.code = 0592
Note: The length of the entered number must be between the minimum length
configured by the parameter “dialplan.area_code.min_len” and the maximum
length configured by the parameter “dialplan.area_code.max_len”.
