4. Troubleshooting
Code 5005: “lamp power supplies - communication failed” (Error)
Situation Solution
Mains power interruption of the L PS
units. None of the diagnostic LEDs
of the LPS units lit up. Note that
the projector electronics remain
operational in case an UPS unit is
used (This situation can not appear
in case no UPS unit is used)
Check the voltage of the mains power ( commerc ial net, r eference 1 of image 4-4) which
enters the backside of the projector to supply the LPS units.
Power cab les d isconnected from the
Mains Input sockets of the LPS units.
Check if the power cables (reference 2 of image 4-4) are connected with the LPS units.
LPS com munic ation cable
disconnected from the CTLB-IN po rt
of the first LPS unit in the LPS rack.
Check if the LPS communication cable (reference 4 of image 4-5) is connected with the
CTLB-IN port of the first LPS unit in the LPS rack of the projector.
Disconnected blue LPS cascade
wire u nit (CTLB-IN / CTLB-OUT).
Reconnect t he blue wire unit (reference 5 image 4- 5) between the “CTLB-IN” and
“CTLB-OUT ” sockets of the LPS units.
LPS com munic ation cable
disconnected form the Signal
Backplane.
Check if the LPS c omm unication c able (reference 7) of image 4-6 ) is connected with the
Signal Backplane.
Malfunction of one of the LPS
modules. T he red LED “ERR” of the
malfunction LP S module lit up.
Replace the malfunction LPS unit. See chapter "Lamp power su pply", page 283 or
"Lamp pow er s upply (single mo dule)", page 291.
