14.8 Cleaning the Reflector of the Lamp House
When cleaning the Reflector?
Only clean the Re flector of the Lamp House in case it is really necessary. This means in case dus t is clearly visible upon the surface
of the Reflector.
This procedure requires that the xenon lamp is removed from the Lamp House.

Hazardous product. I rritating to eyes and skin. Always use in a w ell ventilated area. Vapors may cause drowsi-
ness and dizziness. Avoid co ntact with skin and eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately w ith
plenty of w ater an d seek m edical advise.
CAUTION: ISOPROPANOL AL CO HOL (200–661–7).
Hazardous product. Lightly flammable. Always use in a well ventilated area. Keep away from sources of
ignitions. D o not smoke wh ile working w ith isopropanol. Exclusive keep in original container tightly closed
at a cool, w ell ventilated and fireproof storage space.
Necessary tools
• Compressed air.
• Clean Toraysee cloth.
• Clean cotton cloth.
• Demineralized water.
• Isopropanol alcohol.
How to clean the Reflector of the Lamp House?
1. Try to blow away the d ust with compressed air.
2. Is all dust removed from the Reflec tor?
If yes, stop this cleaning procedure.
If no, wipe off the dust of the Reflec tor. Use for that a clean Toraysee cloth.
Tip: Limit the number of wipe movements. T his to protect the optical coating. It is better to wipe of the dust with one good
wipe movemen t then with 10 soft wipe moveme nts.
3. Is all dust removed from the Reflec tor?
If yes, stop this cleaning procedure.
If no, wipe off the dust of the Reflector first with a clean c otton cloth and demineralized water and than with a clean Toraysee
cloth.
Tip: Use isopropanol alcohol instead of dem ineralized water to remove fingerprints.
CAUTION: Nev er u se a Lam p Hous e w h ich Reflector is cracked or has a dam aged coating. Neg lecting this
will result in irreversible damag e of the projector.
