Batch Processing for Multiple Copy Pairs
Copy pair operations are performed by volume, or collectively for multiple copy pairs (batch
processing), depending on the combinations of commands and parameters. When batch processing
is performed, if there is at least one copy pair subject to processing in the processing unit, the copy
pairs in the processing unit are subject to processing. However, processing is performed by volume
if the DEVN, VOLUNIT, or ERRCHK parameter is specified.
Table 79 (page 260) indicates when batch processing is performed.

Copy Pair Operations Common to All Copy Types
• HP recommends that you execute the YKSUSPND and YKDELETE commands when the status
of the P-VOL or S-VOL in a copy group is DUPLEX or SUSPER.
• Acquire the latest volume status with the YKQUERY or YKEWAIT command before performing
each operation for a copy pair by using CLI commands.
• Business Continuity Manager cannot perform copy pair operations for copy pairs that a product
other than Business Continuity Manager creates (for example, copy pairs created by Remote
Web Console). If you perform copy pair operations by using Business Continuity Manager,
always use Business Continuity Manager to create that copy pair.
Copy Pair Operations for BC Z and Cnt Ac-A
• If the primary site is not updated after you set the suspend time by using the YKSUSPND
command with the ATTIME parameter, the time at which the copy pair is suspended might
differ from the specified time. However, the data on the secondary site will match that of the
primary site at the specified time for the copy pair to be suspended.
• If you execute the YKRESYNC command after suspending the volume with the YKSUSPND
command specifying the ATTIME parameter, Business Continuity Manager automatically
deletes scheduled suspend information. However, when you execute the YKRESYNC command
