HALO Amount – High Amount Lock-Out; This is the maximum amount accepted when this tender is
used. For example, as a store policy you may only accept food stamp amounts up to $50; You would
set the HALO as 50.00.
TAX EXEMPT
Use this setting to exempt the specified tax rates (1-10) when food stamps are redeemed.
DRAWER
Open Drawer – This is option is selected by default, uncheck this option only if you do not want to
open the cash drawer when this tender is used.
FOODSTAMP TENDER
Allow Over-Tender – Set this option only if you want to allow food stamp tender amounts over the
food stamp total.
Allow Decimal Entry – Set this option to allow change amounts to be entered
(i.e. 12.37), if not set only whole dollar amounts are accepted (i.e. 12.00). Change
Type – Choose the change type to be issued when over-tender is allowed;
Change In Cash or Change In Food Stamp.
EFT TYPE – SELECT THE EFT TYPE:
EFT1 thru EFT10.
Connect EFT Terminal – Set this option if you are using the integrated Datacap device for
EBT/Food Stamp transactions.
TIP Charge Keys
TIP Charge keys are optional; they are used with check tracking operations only. The TIP key is used
to enter a gratuity on a check prior to finalization.
PLU Status Group for Gift Cards
For most merchants, the sale of a gift card is not reportable revenue until actual merchandise is sold
and the gift card is redeemed. As a “best practice” dealers will program the PLU used for the sale of a
gift card as a “HASH” PLU (report the PLU to a PLU Status Group with HASH status).
1. From the PROGRAM MODE touch PLU then touch PLU STATUS GROUP to view the PLU
status group options. Data for the first status group displays.
2. Select a PLU status group you wish to program.
3. Check the option; “HASH ITEM”.
4. Set the “PLU GIFT CARD ITEM” option:
a. ACTIVATE (Activate a new Gif Card)
b. ADD (Add value to an existing Gift Card)
Load the EMV Parameters
After connecting the new EMV compatible Datacap device and the PIN-Pad to the ECR and all the
required programming is completed, you must load the parameters for the devices. The IPTran LT
must be connected to the internet to load the parameters.
To load the Datacap device parameters perform the following:
1. Self-Initiated Load – This procedure is explained on page 277 in this supplement. This operation is
typically not necessary, the Tran device will call out to verify the load automatically.
2. Pin Pad Reset
Use this operation to reset the Pin-pad connected to the integrated credit device.
