Recycling and disposal of equipment in the
OpenScape Desk Phone family
Return of OpenScape Desk Phone waste equipment:
a) Legal and other foundations
The take-back of equipment and spare parts is based on
• EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE),
• the German "Act Governing the Sale, Return and Environmentally Sound Disposal of Electrical
and Electronic Equipment" (ElektroG),
• the criteria of the Blue Angel RAL UZ 150 for "Corded Voice-Over IP Telephones".
b) Separate collection according to ElektroG
Users of electrical and electronic equipment are obliged to collect waste equipment separately and
supply for proper disposal.
This waste equipment must not be disposed of together with unsorted municipal waste (normal
household waste). Separate collection is a condition for reuse, recycling and efficient recovery of
waste equipment and the basis for the recovery of materials.
