The interfaces are turned on by default.
Usage
Use the command to shutdown a port.
Examples
The following example shows how to shutdown a port:
Switch(config)# interface eth-0-1
Switch(config-if-eth-0-1)# shutdown

Use the no form of this command to delete the description.
