Assembly
5.3 Commissioning
Only trained specialist staff may perform initial
commissioning since initial commissioning of the
pedelec requires special tools and specialist
knowledge.
Experience has shown that a pedelec which has
not yet been sold is automatically handed to
customers as soon as it appears ready to ride.
It makes sense to prepare each pedelec so that
it is fully ready for use immediately after being
assembled.
The assembly report (see Section 11.2)
describes all safety-relevant inspections, tests
and maintenance tasks.
All assembly work must be completed to
ensure the pedelec is ready to ride.
Complete an assembly report to document
quality assurance (see Section 11.1).
5.3.1 Checking the battery
The battery must be checked before it is charged
for the first time.
Press the On-Off button (battery).
If none of the LEDs on the battery level
indicator light up, the battery may be
damaged.
The battery may be fully charged if at least one,
but not all, of the LEDs on the battery level
indicator lights up.
