J.5 Enabling Security Mode
With Security enabled through the template, the desired security mode needs to be enabled. Follow
the steps below to load the desired security mode and enable security.
1. Make sure that the bezel with the security switch is closed and in place.
2. Using the IR remote perform the following steps for each dispenser:
a. Press “5”. The display will show
Func.
b. Enter “56: and press “Enter”. The display will show
Sub.
c. Enter “00” and press “Enter” for One-Shot Mode or “01” and press “Enter” for
Localized Mode. The display will show
5600xxxxxxxx (One-Shot Mode) or
5601xxxxxxxx (Localized Mode). This is the “Challenge code.” (The first four digits
are always the function and sub-function.) Use the entire number when providing the
“Challenge code.”
d. Call DFS Support Center (1-800-926-3737) or use your smartphone or laptop device
to log in through the Wayne Portal (
https://portal.wayne.com) and provide the
“Challenge code.” You will receive a “Response code” (One-Shot) that is required to
activate the security feature. Note: This step is required for the initial set-up for either
mode.
Note: If 2 minutes expire before completing steps “d” and “e”, the display returns to
the operation idle prompt. At this point, simply go back through the above steps and
use the same response code. Note: Once the code is entered in step “e” below
(which gives access to Function 56), a new code from the DFS Support Center would
be required to re-access this function.
e. With the “Challenge code” still showing on the display, press Enter on the IR remote.
The display shows
Pass 1. Enter the “Response code” and then press “Enter”. The
display shows
Pass 2. Enter the “Response code” again and press “Enter”.
f.
One-Shot Mode: Go to Function 56.00, change 0 to 1.
Localized Mode: Go to Function 56.01, change 0 to 1.
g. Go to Function 00 and change setting to “3” to save and exit. Wait one minute before
proceeding.
This has enabled the security switch, and, in
1 minute, the switch will be armed.
Note: Pressing Enter during the one minute period will disable the security
feature and the dispenser will display “Secure OFF”.
h. After the one minute, Press “Enter” to confirm that the unit is properly armed. The
display will show
Secure ON. The procedure is now complete. The bezel should not
be opened.
If the display still reads
Secure Off after 1 minute, there may be an issue with the
security switches. Troubleshoot as needed.
3. Run test sales to verify proper dispenser operation.
