8.1 INSTALLATION/UPGRADE 8 489PC SOFTWARE

8.1.3 CHECKING IF INSTALLATION/UPGRADE IS REQUIRED
If 489PC is already installed, run the program and use the following procedure to check if it needs upgrading:
1. While 489PC is running, insert the GE Power Management Products CD and allow it to autostart (alternately, load the
D:\index.htm file from the CD into your default web browser),
OR
Go to the GE Power Management website at www.GEindustrial.com/pm (preferred method)
2. Click the “Software” menu item and select “489 Generator Management Relay” from the product list.
3. Verify that the version shown is identical to the installed version (see below). The Help > About 489PC menu item dis-
plays the current version of 489PC.
If these two versions do not match,
then the 489PC software must
be upgraded.
