(2) Rear Axle Case
Separating Rear Axle Case
1. Unscrew the rear wheel mounting nuts, and remove the rear
wheels(l).
2. [4WS Type1
Pull out the cotter pin, and unscrew the slotted nut.
Remove
the tie-rod (3) from the knuckle arm.
3. Unscrew the rear axle case mounting screws, and separate
the rear axle case (2), (5)
from the transmission case.
4. Take out the differential assembly (4), noting the number of
left and right shims.
(When reassembling)
• Apply
liquid gasket (Three Bond 12080 or its equivalent) to
the rear axle case, and assemble it within nine minutes.

1. Remove the external snap ring (1) and collar (2).
2. Tap out the rear axle (6) outwards.
(When reassembling)
•
Apply grease to the oil seal lip (5), and take care that it is not
rolled when installing the rear axle.
