CHECKING, DISASSEMBLING AND SERVICING
CHECKING AND ADJUSTING
Steering Wheel Play
1. Turn the front wheels straight ahead
2. Rotate the steering wheel lightly, and measure the steering
wheel play.
3. If the measurement is not within the ractory specifications,
check the steering gears (steering shaft, pinion shaft, sector
gear, sector
shaft and etc.) and ball bearings.

Adjusting Tie-rod [4WS Type)
1. Measure the distance (ll) between the frame and the flange
of right wheel hub.
2. Measure the distance (l2) between the frame and the flange
of left wheel hub.
3. If the distance (l1) is not equal to the distance (l2), adj ust the
length of tie-rod so that the distance (l1) becomes equal to
the distance (l2) .
• NOTE
• After adjustment. secure the tie-rod end (2) with the lock
nut (3).
