M101, M102
Operators do not know when to change the AIO.
Make sure the operators understand the following points about AIO replacement:
• For the M101, M102 the machine does not monitor the level of toner remaining in the AIO. There
is no toner near-end or toner-end alert.
•
The AIO in the M101 or M102 must be replaced or refilled when images become pale or
scratchy.
• The yield of the starter AIO is 500 sheets and the yield of a replacement AIO is 2,000 sheets.
• A replacement AIO can be refilled up to three times. This is calculated based on the service life of
the drum.
• An AIO must be refilled by a trained service technician.
M103
Operator wants to reset the counter for a new AIO but the [Execute] button is not displayed for the
"Reset Toner Cartridge" item on the Service Mode screen of Smart Organizing Monitor or User Tools
menu.
Cause The toner end option is not set.
Solution Switch on the toner end feature: [User Tools] > System Settings > Toner End
Option > Stop Printing
Comments After "Stop Printing" is selected, the [Execute] button will appear:
[User Tools] > System Settings > Reset Toner Cartridge > [Execute]

Enter Service Mode > Service Mode screen > Reset Toner Cartridge >
[Execute]
The machine has issued a toner end alert but some toner remains in the AIO.
Cause 1 The service life of the drum has expired before the toner supply has run out.
Solution 1 Replace the AIO
Solution 2 Disable the toner end function in order to use up all the toner in the AIO.
[User Tools] > System Settings > Toner End Option > Continue Printing
