5.5.4 Rotary-vane type pump

Dismantle / replace the control set
Preparation
Dismantle the rotary-vane type pump
If it is quite clear from the fault diagnosis that
only the control set needs to be replaced, then
the rotary-vane type pump does not need to be
dismantled.
Service
1. Dismantle the control set, including the by-pass system.
2. Check the pump housing for calcium deposits, pay spe-
cial attention to the return by-pass seat.
3. Check the pump for noise emission
For flange mounted motor: turn the motor shaft with
a screw driver
For uncoupled motor: Turn the pump shaft with a
screwdriver (direction of rotation: anti-clockwise!)
The pump should turn evenly with little resistance.
If the bearings are noisy or if resistance is uneven when you
turn: Replace the pump or the motor (or both) with new ones.
