5.5.6 Replace safety thermostat
For safety indications see the section entitled
“Safety Regulations”, particularly the section
on “Safety Thermostat”.
Preparation
Disconnect supply connections
Dismantle the bean container
Dismantle the cup plate
Remove the casings in accordance with where the
instant heater/steam generator is installed.
Dismantle the instant heater or the steam generator
concerned.
Service
1. Unplug the plug-in contact on the safety thermostat
2. Unscrew the faulty safety thermostat and remove
3. Remove the contact sleeve
4. Clean the container wall, the threaded bush and contact
sleeve.
5. Apply thermo conducting paste to the thread bolts on the
new safety thermostat and on the two end faces of the
contact sleeve.
6. Place the contact sleeve with the narrower end face onto
the wall of the container, then screw in the new safety
thermostat.
7. Tighten the safety thermostat: Make sure the torque is
1 Nm!
8. Replug the plug-in connector on the heating cable; do
not allow the flat plug to warp!!
