1F-9 Engine Cooling System:
12) Remove the washers (9), (10) and water pump shaft
(11).
13) Remove the oil seal.
CAUTION
!
Replace the removed oil seal with a new one.
NOTE
If there is no abnormal condition, the oil seal
removal is not necessary.
Installation
Install the water pump in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
• Apply thread lock to the outer surface of new oil seal.
: Thread lock cement 99000–32110
(THREAD LOCK CEMENT SUPER “1322” or
equivalent)
• Press in the oil seal with the suitable size socket
wrench.
• Check engine oil flow before installing the water pump
shaft.
CAUTION
!
Make sure that engine oil flows to the bearing
part of oil seal as shown in the illustration. If
the oil does not flow, replace the oil seal with
a new one again.
• Apply grease to the oil seal lips.
: Grease 99000–25010 (SUZUKI SUPER
GREASE “A” or equivalent)
