5.Theenginemustbeingoodoperatingcondition.Useaphototactodetermine
enginespeedwhenperformingahydraulictest.Enginespeedwillaffectthe
accuracyofthetesterreadings.SeeEngine(Models30893,30893TE,30899
and30899TE)(page2–3)andEngine(Models30885and30887)(page2–4).
6.Whenusingthehydraulictesterwithowandpressurecapabilities,theinlet
andtheoutlethosesmustbeproperlyconnectedandnotreversedtoprevent
damagetothehydraulictesterorcomponents.
7.Whenusingthehydraulictesterwithowandpressurecapabilities,
completelyopenowcontrolvalveontesterbeforestartingtheengineto
minimizethepossibilityofdamagingcomponents.
8.Installttingsngertightandfarenoughtomakesurethattheyarenot
cross−threadedbeforetighteningthemwithawrench.
9.Positiontesterhosestopreventrotatingmachinepartsfromcontactingand
damagingthehosesortester.
10.Checkoillevelinthehydraulicreservoir.Afterconnectingtestequipment,
makesurereservoirisfull.
11.Afterinstallingtestgauges,runengineatlowidlespeedandcheckforany
hydraulicoilleaks.Correctanyleaksbeforeproceedingwithtestprocedure.
12.Beforereturningmachinetouse,makesurethathydraulicreservoirhas
correctuidlevel.
WhichHydraulicTestsAreNecessary?
Beforebeginninganyhydraulictest,identifyiftheproblemisrelatedtothe
tractioncircuit,cutting(mow)circuit,lift/lowercircuit,steeringcircuitorengine
coolingfancircuit.Oncethefaultysystemhasbeenidentied,performtests
thatrelatetothatcircuit.
1.Ifatractioncircuitproblemexists,considerperformingoneormoreofthe
followingtests:TractionCircuitChargePressure,TractionCircuitRelief
Pressure,CounterbalancePressure,ReverseTractionCircuitReducing
Valve(PR)Pressure,RearTractionCircuitReliefValve(RV)Pressure,Piston
(Traction)PumpFlowand/orGearPumpFlowT ests.
IMPORTANT
RefertoTractionCircuitProblems(page3–4)forinformation
regardingtheimportanceofremovingcontaminationfromthe
tractioncircuit.
2.Ifacutting(mow)circuitproblemexists,considerperformingoneormore
ofthefollowingtests:CuttingDeckCircuitPressure,PTOReliefPressure,
CuttingDeckMotorCaseDrainLeakageand/orGearPumpFlowT ests.
3.Ifalift/lowercircuitproblemexists,considerperformingoneormoreofthe
followingtests:Lift/LowerCircuitReliefPressureand/orGearPumpFlow
Tests.
4.Ifasteeringcircuitproblemexists,considerperformingoneormoreofthe
followingtests:SteeringCircuitReliefPressure,SteeringCylinderInternal
Leakageand/orGearPumpFlowTests.
