AtemperaturesenderisusedasaninputfortheTECcontrollertoidentifyifthe
hydraulicoiltemperaturehasreachedanexcessivelevel.Thehydraulicoil
temperaturesenderisattachedtotherearaxlemotorattherearofthemachine
(Figure218).
TheInfoCenterwilldisplayfaultcode18ifthehydraulicoiltemperaturesender
inputstotheTECcontrollerarenotinthenormalrange.
Testing
Note:Beforedisconnectingthehydraulicoiltemperaturesenderfortesting,the
senderanditscircuitwiringshouldbetestedasaTECelectricalinputusing
theInfoCenterDisplay(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–8)).Ifinputtesting
veriesthatthetemperaturesenderandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,
nofurthersendertestingisnecessary.If,however,inputtestingdeterminesthat
thetemperaturesenderandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceed
withthefollowingtemperaturesendertestingprocedure.
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,engageparkingbrake
andstopengine.Removekeyfromignitionswitch.
2.Locatehydraulicoiltemperaturesenderonbottomofrearaxlemotor.
Disconnectwireharnessconnectorfromsenderandinspectforconnectoror
wiringdamage.
3.Thoroughlycleanareaaroundtemperaturesenderandremovesenderfrom
rearaxlemotor.
