SMARTASSIST−Directelectroniccontroldiagnosticsservicesystemisavailable
tosupporttheerrordiagnosisandmaintenanceservicesofengineelectrical
controldevices.
CAN−busCommunications
TheT oroTECcontroller(s),theYanmarEngineControllerandtheInfoCenter
DisplayusedontheGroundsmaster4500−Dand4700−Dcommunicatewith
eachotheronaCAN−bussystem.Usingthissystemallowsthetractionunitto
fullyintegrateallthedifferentelectricalcomponentsofthetractionunitandbring
themtogetherasone.TheCAN−bussystemreducesthenumberofelectrical
componentsandconnectionsusedonthemachineandallowsthenumberof
wiresinthewireharnesstobesignicantlyreduced.Theintegrationofelectrical
functionsalsoallowstheInfoCenterDisplaytoassistwithelectricalsystem
diagnostics.
CANidentiestheControllerAreaNetworkthatisusedbetweenthecontrollers
ontheGroundsmaster.Two(2)speciallydesigned,twistedwiresformthe
bus.Thesewiresprovidethedatapathwaysbetweenthecontrollers(theTEC
controllersandtheYanmarelectroniccontrolunit)andtheInfoCenterDisplay
usedonthemachine.TheengineeringtermforthesewiresareCANHighand
CANLow.Attheendsofthetwistedpairofbuswiresare120ohmtermination
resistors.Oneoftheseresistorsisincludedinthewireharnessandthesecond
isinsidetheengineECU.
EachofthecomponentsthatiscontrolledbytheCAN−buslinkneedsonlyfour
(4)wirestooperateandcommunicatetothesystem:CANHigh,CANLow,B+
(power)andground.TheCAN−busneedstheignitionswitchONinputforboth
theTECandengineECUtobeactivated.
