Thefuelpumpisattachedtotheaircleanermountbelowthefuelwaterseparator
(Figure220).
OperationalTest
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengineandapply
parkingbrake.Raisehoodtoaccessfuelpump.
2.Disconnectfuelsupplyhosefromthefuelinjectionpumpttingontheengine
(Figure220).Thishoseisthefuelpumpdischarge.
3.Makesurefuelhosesattachedtothefuelpumparefreeofobstructions.
4.Placedisconnectedendofsupplyhoseintoalarge,graduatedcylinder
sufcientenoughtocollect0.95liter(1quart).
IMPORTANT
Whentestingfuelpumpoutput,donotturnignitionswitchtothe
STARTposition.
5.CollectfuelinthegraduatedcylinderbyturningignitionswitchtotheON
position.Allowpumptorunforfteen(15)seconds,thenturnswitchtoOFF .
6.Theamountoffuelcollectedinthegraduatedcylindershouldbe
approximately475ml(16oz)afterfteen(15)seconds.
7.Replacefuelpumpasnecessary.
