port isolate-user-vlan host
Description
Use the port isolate-user-vlan host command to configure a port to operate in host mode. If the port is
assigned to a secondary VLAN, the command also assigns the port to the isolate-user-VLAN that is
associated with the secondary VLAN.
Use the undo port isolate-user-vlan command to cancel the host operating mode of a port.
By default, a port does not operate in host mode.
When the device executes the port isolate-user-vlan host command, the following guidelines apply:
You cannot assign trunk ports to a secondary VLAN.
If the port is an access port and has been assigned to a secondary VLAN, the device changes the
link type of the port to hybrid and sets the secondary VLAN as the PVID of the port.
If the port is a trunk or hybrid port and has been assigned to a secondary VLAN, the device does
not change the link type or PVID of the port.
A hybrid port (original hybrid or changed from access) will send packets of the secondary VLAN
and associated isolate-user-VLAN untagged. The existing VLAN settings on the port are not
changed.
You can configure the port isolate-user-vlan host command before or after assigning the port to a
secondary VLAN.
