Perform a shock absorber service
Caution
A
Danger 01 accidents Disassembly of pressurized parts can lead to injury.
- The shock absorber is filled with high density nitrogen. Adhere
to the description provided.

Condition
The shock absorber has been demounted.
- Remove the spring. (r p. 44)
- Disassemble the damper. (r p. 45)
- Disassemble the piston rod. (r p. 46)
- Disassemble the seal ring retainer. ( .. p. 47)
- Check the damper. (r p. 48)
- Disassemble the rebound adjuster. (r p. 49)
- Remove the heim joint. (r p. 50)
- Install the heim joint. (r p. 50)
- Assemble the rebound adjuster. (r p. 51)
- Assemble the seal ring retainer. ( .. p. 52)
- Assemble the piston rod. (r p. 52)
- Assemble the damper. (r p. 54)
- Install the spring. (r p. 59)
Condition
The shock absorber has been demounted.
- Clamp the shock absorber in a bench vise using soft jaws.
- Measure and note the spring length in its pre-compressed state.
- Loosen screw

- Rotate the adjusting ring until the spring is no longer under tension.
I Hook wrench (Tl06S) (r p. 262)
- Remove O-ri ng •.
- Remove spring retainer. and intermediate washer •.
- Remove the spri ng.

The shock absorber has been demounted.
- Remove the spring. (r p. 44)
- Disassemble the damper. (r p. 45)
- Disassemble the piston rod. (r p. 46)
- Disassemble the seal ring retainer. ( .. p. 47)
- Check the damper. (r p. 48)
- Disassemble the rebound adjuster. (r p. 49)
- Remove the heim joint. (r p. 50)
- Install the heim joint. (r p. 50)
- Assemble the rebound adjuster. (r p. 51)
- Assemble the seal ring retainer. ( .. p. 52)
- Assemble the piston rod. (r p. 52)
- Assemble the damper. (r p. 54)
- Install the spring. (r p. 59)
Condition
The shock absorber has been demounted.
- Clamp the shock absorber in a bench vise using soft jaws.
