8.7.3 Overcurrent monitoring
This funcon monitors the instantaneous value of the motor current and serves as motor pro-
tecon.
NOTICE
With an incorrect parameterisaon, the maximum permissible motor current may be excee-
ded in the process.
Possible consequence: irreversible damage of the motor.

The seng of the threshold for the overcurrent monitoring in 0x2D46:001 (P353.01) must
be adapted to the connected motor.

Set the maximum output current of the inverter in 0x6073 (P324.00) much lower than the
threshold for overcurrent monitoring.
Details
The inverter monitors its output current. This monitoring takes place irrespecve of the set-
tings for the current liming funcon. 4Current limits ^ 166

If the instantaneous value of the motor current exceeds the threshold set in 0x2D46:001
(P353.01), the response set in 0x2D46:002 (P353.02) takes place.

With the seng 0x2D46:002 (P353.02) = "No response [0]", the monitoring funcon is
deacvated.
The threshold for the overcurrent monitoring is preset to four mes the rated motor current.
This preseng is overwrien in case a motor in the engineering tool is selected from the
"motor catalog" or the automac idencaon or calibraon of the motor data is carried out.
For a suitable protecon, the automacally adapted seng should be used. If disturbances
occur during operaon, the value can be increased.

The parameter can also be set and thus overwrien by selecng a
motor in the engineering tool from the "motor catalog" or calibrang
the motor.
