14 Remote Control
The oscilloscope can be controlled remotely mainly using the following two methods:
User-defined programming
Users can program and control the oscilloscope by using the SCPI (Standard
Commands for Programmable Instruments) commands. For more information about
the commands and programming, refer to the
DS6000 Programming Guide
.
Use PC software
Users can use the PC software to send commands to remotely control the
oscilloscope. Ultra Sigma of RIGOL is recommended. You can acquire Ultra Sigma
from the resource CD in the standard accessories or download the latest version from
RIGOL official website (
www.rigol.com).
This oscilloscope can communicate with the PC through USB, LAN or GPIB (together
with the USB to GPIB interface converter of RIGOL) instrument bus. This chapter
provides a detailed introduction of how to use Ultra Sigma to control DS6000
remotely through various interfaces.
