Remove the
oil
filter cover
by
pulling it gently
towards the front of the motorcycle.

Position the oil drain pan beneath the
oil
filter.
10.
Unscrew and remove the oil filter using Triumph
service tool T3880312. Dispose of the old filter
in
an
environmentally friendly
way.

11.
Apply a thin smear of clean engine oil to the
sealing ring of the new oil filter. Fit the
oil
filter
and tighten to 10 Nm.
12.
Fill the oil tank to the maximum mark with a 1
OWl
40
or 15W/50 semi or fully synthetic motorcycle
engine oil that meets specification
API
SH
(or
higher) AND JASO
MA.
13. Start the engine and allow
itto
idle for a minimum
of 30 seconds.
Raising the engine speed above idle before the oil
reaches
all
parts of the engine can cause engine
damage or seizure. Only raise engine speed after
running the engine for a few seconds to allow the oil
to circulate
fUlly.
If the engine oil pressure is too
low,
the low oil
pressure warning light will illuminate. If this light
stays
on
when the engine is running, stop the
engine immediately and investigate the cause.
Running the engine with
low
oil
pressure will cause
engine damage.
14.
Ensure that the low oil pressure warning light
extinguishes shortly after starting.
15.
Turn
off the ignition, check the oil level using the
method previously described, and top-up to
between the minimum and maximum marks.
Note:
• When the engine
is
first
started
after
an
oil
and
filter
change, at least 1
to
1.5
litres
of
oil
will
be required
to
top-up
the
oil
tank
to
the
correct
level.
Disposal
of
Used Engine Oil and Oil Filters
To
protect the environment,
do
not pour oil on the
ground, down sewers or drains, or into watercourses.
Db
not place used
oil
filters
in
with general waste.
