The GNX4 is equipped with a Built-in General MIDI Drum Machine and MP3 Player. You can select from
a variety of Factory and User created MIDI drum patterns and drum kits or your own MP3s to play along
with. The GNX4s Drum Machine/MP3 Player can be set up in different ways as shown below:
Control Panel - Drum Machine/MP3 Player Buttons
(STOP/PLAY)
Press this button to start or stop the drum machine or MIDI File/MP3 playback.
PATTERN/FILE
Press this button to select the Pattern/File library. Use the DATA WHEEL or PREV and NEXT
buttons to select one of the GNX4s internal drum patterns. If a CF card is present in the memory
card slot and MP3s and MIDI files are resident on the card,you can select these files for playback as
well. MIDI and MP3 files must be resident in the GNX4>MIDI and GNX4>MP3 directories
respectively on your compact flash card in order for them to be recognized. Please refer to the
Compact Flash Card Usage section of this manual for more information. There are 110 different
drum patterns and 5 metronome settings available including:
Internal Drum Pattern List
LEVEL
Press this button to select the drum machine playback level. Using the DATA WHEEL or PREV
and NEXT buttons to adjust the volume level of the drum machine or MP3file playback.
TEMPO
Press this button to select the Drum Machine tempo setting. Use the DATA WHEEL or PREV and
NEXT buttons to adjust the playback speed of the drum or MIDI file being played back. Tempo range
is 40-240 BPM (beats per minute). The TEMPO button has no function when MP3 files are selected
.
KIT
The GNX4 is equipped with several drum kits that cover a variety of music genres. Press this button
to select the drum kit menu. Use the DATA WHEEL or PREV and NEXT buttons to change
between the different drum kits available. The KIT button has no function when MP3 files are
selected. Listed below are the drum kit types:
